I have always loved to make art. When I was small, I spent hours gluing together popsicle stick houses, building amusement parks for my hamster out of toilet paper rolls and cereal boxes, painting mermaids and dragons.... I created worlds with my imagination and turned them into reality. But when I got to high school, I started thinking about college, and careers beyond that, and decided to be practical (read: safe). So I buried my love of art under SAT scores in high school, and STEM classes in college.
Then, halfway through my junior year, my friend Kevin connected me with the creators of a new art-centered magazine called Human Condition, and everything changed. Kevin thought that they should feature me; I talked to the creators of the magazine and they agreed! I was shocked. I did not, at this point in my life, even claim the title of "artist." |

I make visual art, but my work is deeply inspired by musical artists. Here are some songs that have really spoken to my soul from some all-time favorites.
