Over the past four years I have learned more about myself and the world than I ever could have guessed when I walked into my first class as a freshmen at UW. I changed from wanting to go into healthcare because it was practical and predictable, to believing in myself enough to pursue art, my true love. I found intellectual communities--CHID and the Honors Program--which sparked my curiosity and deepened my sense of wonder at the world and desire to learn more about it. I grew as a leader, gaining self-awareness and skills through UW Leaders, and gaining practice through volunteer work, internships, and jobs.
My experiences both in and outside of the classroom have pushed me to my limits, widened my perspective, and given me a glimpse into the vastness of what I do not, and will not ever know. In the next few pages, I will attempt to do justice to the transformative journey that the last four years have been, organized into realms of myself that seem most important to me in this moment. Like my life, it will be a messy blend of the academic, practical, creative and deeply personal.
